about

A club for students who are looking for hands-on cybersecurity experience.

DU Cybersecurity Club started as a handful of Ritchie School students learning about cybersecurity news. Our club has since grown into a community for anyone interested in getting practical experience with computer security.

We meet to discuss security news, develop new technical skills, prepare for competitions, and offer career/internship guidance.

Our club is open to any level of skill and all majors are welcome. Students from backgrounds other than Computer Science are encouraged to join!

Workshops

Hands-on sessions on technical skill building: penetration testing, CTF challenges, and network setup.

Competitive CTF team

We field teams for CCDC, CyberForce, National Cyber League, and regional collegiate competitions. We train throughout the quarter to prepare for these events.

Speaker events

We work with ISSA and ISACA to bring industry professionals to our campus. Learn from DU alumni, local businesses, and CISOs.

Career prep

Resume reviews aimed at security roles, internships, and study groups for Security+ and other certifications.

ctf team

DUCSC Competitive Cybersecurity Team

Our competitive squad trains year-round and enters in various competitions throughout the school year. No prior CTF experience needed to join us — we care more about how you approach an unfamiliar problem than what you already know.

Practice happens during our weekly meetings, split between picoCTF-style challenge sets and full virtualized environments.

DU Cybersecurity Club is an independent registered student organization. We're not part of DU's IT or Information Security office and can't help with university account or password issues — for that, contact the DU IT Help Center.
